FAQ – Reservations

How many people can I have per campsite?
There is a maximum of 4 adults per campsite, or up to 2 adults and 3 children are permitted. You can add a maximum of 2 adults per campsite for an extra $6.00 per night.
How do I make a reservation at Hickory Oaks Campground?
The most convenient way of making a reservation is by filling out the reservation form request on this website. We will email back shortly to confirm your reservation. (PLEASE NOTE: Full payment is required to secure your site; no deposits will be accepted.)

How do I reserve the pavilion if I want to organize a small event?
The pavilion can be rented for small events. Contact us for more information.

What are the check-in and check-out times?
Campsites: Check-out is before 12:00 p.m., check-in is after 1:00 p.m. and generally no later than 7:00 p.m.
Cabinette Rentals: Check-out is before 12:00 p.m., check-in is after 3:00 p.m.

What happens if I cancel my reservation?
If you cancel prior to 7 days (or prior to 15 days for area special events) from your arrival date, a $15 fee for each campsite and $20 fee for each cabin will be forfeited to your account to cover processing fees, and you will be reimbursed the remainder of your payment.
If you cancel under the 7 days preceding (or under the 15 days preceding for area special events) your expected arrival date, you may not be reimbursed.
There is no reimbursement if you cancel once you have checked in
We understand that it is sometimes necessary for campers to cancel a reservation, or leave earlier than the planned departure date, however the campsite that was reserved for you was made unavailable for others. Therefore, Hickory Oaks Campground is not bound to deliver reimbursement.

How much is the fee for a grey/black water pump out?
A portable pumper will provide this service at your campsite for an $15.00 fee; $20.00 during special events. Using the dumping station is free of charge for campers, however there is a $25 fee for those off-road using the station.

How much is it if I want to add a fifth or sixth adult to my reservation?
It costs $8.00 per night per extra person – maximum of 6 adults per site.

How much is it if I want to use the dumping station and I am not a camper at Hickory Oaks Campground?
A $25.00 fee will be required for using the dumping station, if you are not camping at HOC.

How much does it cost to reserve the pavilion if I want to organize a small event?

Are the prices given tax-included or before tax?
Taxes are not included in most prices given on this web site. An additional 5% tax will be applied.

Are there different rates depending on the period of the reservation?
The prices are the same except during area special events. Contact the office for special event rates.
FAQ – Campground Information

Do you have 50 amp service?
Yes, we have 50, 30 and 20 amp water and electric sites.

Is there Wi-Fi internet access?
Free Wi-Fi access is available BUT limited to the area surrounding the office and not available throughout the campground. Underground cables would need to be put in throughout the grounds and we would be charged per site, according to Spectrum.

Are there wooded areas where sites are secluded and are most of the time in the shade?
We have plenty of such tent sites, plus approximately 10 hook-up sites that are at least partially shaded. Please note that tenters are able to reserve for a very limited amount of time in the campground.

Is pump-out service for grey and black water available?
Yes, a portable pumper will take care of that in exchange of an $15.00 fee; $20.00 during special events.

Do you have rental units at Hickory Oaks Campground?
Yes, 2 cabinettes are available for rent. A third, “cottage cabin” is also available. Click here for more information on the rental units. Contact the office for any rate information. We also have a pavilion that can be rented for small events. Contact us for more information on how to rent the pavilion for an event.

Do you have pull through campsites that allow me to drive into the campsite with my RV, and leave it without having to back out?
Yes we have some convenient, pull-through campsites to accommodate larger motor homes.

Do you sell firewood?
Yes, we do.

In case we want to swim in the lake, is there a convenient, safe and easy access in the water?
Yes, there is a small, sandy beach that makes for easy access to the designated swimming area. The lake is safe (from the designated beach area, only) to swim in and cool off during hot summer. days. Please refer to rules and regulations regarding swimming at Hickory Oaks.
